Using Ahrefs Inside ChatGPT (A Simple Way to Actually Use Your SEO Tools)
For a long time, I had access to Ahrefs… and struggled to use it properly.
Not because it’s not powerful. It definitely is. But because I’d open it, click around a bit, feel slightly overwhelmed, and then close it again without really doing anything useful.
That changed when I connected Ahrefs to ChatGPT.
What Changed?
Instead of manually digging through data, I can now just ask for what I need. And, actually act on it.
ChatGPT can work with Ahrefs data to:
- Run keyword research
- Check search results (SERPs)
- Analyse content
- Suggest improvements
It turns something that feels too hard and confusing into something practical and useful.
What You Can Ask
Here are a few simple prompts that make this useful straight away:
- “Find keyword opportunities for this topic.”
- “Analyse this URL and tell me what to improve.”
- “Compare my article with top-ranking pages.”
- “Find low-competition keywords in my niche.”
That’s it. No complicated workflow. Just ask in your everyday words.
Why This Works (Especially If You Avoid SEO Tools)
If you’re like me, the problem isn’t access – it’s use.
Tools like Ahrefs are powerful, but they can feel like too much effort to navigate regularly. Connecting it to ChatGPT removes that friction.
You go from:
“I should do keyword research…”
to:
“I’ll just ask and get something I can use right now.”
A Small Shift That Makes a Big Difference
This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about making it easier to follow through on what you already know you should be doing.
If you already have Ahrefs and haven’t been using it much, this is worth trying.
